Renaissance, Sauvignon Blanc "Magie des Caillottes" Sancerre, Loire Valley, France 2025

Renaissance is a collaboration between friends. Brothers Mathieu and Benoit Fleuriet took over the Sancerre vines of their dear friend Stephane Marchand after he was diagnosed with a severe heart condition. They vinify the wines together.

This entry/flagship Sancerre is floral and fruity with notes of citrus and stones. Precise and balanced with great acidity and minerality, it's a harmonious and "gourmet" Sancerre that would pair perfectly with all matter of fish and shellfish.

Biodynamic certification effective with the 2023 vintage. 100% manual harvest. Fermentation takes place slowly with indigenous yeasts in stainless tanks. Aged in a combination of concrete tank (80%) and foudres (20%) on fine lees for 7 to 9 month with no added SO2, unless absolutely necessary. Minimal sulphur added before bottling.

From a very stony ("Caillottes") vineyard in Amigny planted in the late 1990s at 280 meters in elevation.
