An earthy, spicy nose of pine needles, brush, damp earth, spices and tea leaves contrasts with a palate of macerated blackberries, before a hot, fiery finish. Acid creates a peppery, bouncy feel, while tannins are round and polished.

Morellino di Scansano is an Italian wine appellation in southern Tuscany. The wines are dry reds from the Sangiovese grape variety, known here as Morellino are produced in the rolling coastal hills around the medieval village of Scansano.
