100% Syrah. Practicing organic. Sourced and blended from multiple sites in Sonoma that reflect the best expressions of Syrah. The terroir is a combination of rocky decomposed soils and vines planted in sandy soils. 100% whole cluster; fermented in concrete with indigenous yeast. Aged in neutral 500L French puncheons & concrete vats.

Fresh aromas of roasted earth, black licorice, blackberries, tar, pepper and smoke. This is unmistakably Syrah. Rich, supple, incredibly textured and so delicious. Nothing is out of place here, fruit, spice, savory, sweet, it has got it all.

Pax and Pam Mahle moved to wine country in 1997 to pursue careers in wine and, Pax Wine Cellars was launched in 2000. The Mahles decided to make a bold choice by favoring the “untapped potential” of the Syrah grape. The entire lineup of wines came from cool climate vineyards in Sonoma County and Mendocino. The wines were big, rich expressions of Syrah that went on to be highly sought after and quickly established Pax as one of California’s premier producers of Syrah.
