Les Hauts du Tertre (2nd of 5ème) Margaux, Bordeaux, France 2018
Les Hauts du Tertre (2nd of 5ème) Margaux, Bordeaux, France 2018
40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Franc
The second wine of the Grand Cru Classé Château du Tertre, Les Hauts du Tertre follows the same spirit as the Grand Vin with whom it shares the terroir.
Viticulture and winemaking are done with the same level of precision; nevertheless Les Hauts du Tertre is focused on a more shining, fruity and electric style. The essence of Les Hauts du Tertre 2018 is mainly carried by the Cabernet Franc that delivers subtly fruity and fresh spicy notes. The palate offers a wonderful acidity that gives lift, energy and a long finish.
Les Hauts du Tertre ferments in wood, concrete and stainless steel tanks. Maceration lasts 28 days. The wine ages for 12 months in barrel.
Château du Tertre has existed since the 12th century, and its vineyard of 52 hectares remains unchanged since 1855, when it was classified a 5th Growth Grand Cru Classé de Margaux.
