Le Brun Servenay "Mélodie en C." Champagne Extra Brut Grand Cru Avize NV

This is a non-vintage blanc de blancs, blended from four different years and sourced exclusively from the Grand Cru villages of Avize, Oger and Cramant where the average vine age is an impressive 40 years. The base vintage is 2017 (with 2016, 2015, and 2014 reserve), with 30-35% reserve wines roughly equal parts of three prior vintages.

Le Brun Servenay's "Mélodie en C" delivers a complex and quite classy bouquet of pear, apple, chalky minerality, brioche, a touch of hazelnut and a lovely panoply of spring flowers. On the palate the wine is crisp, full-bodied, focused and beautifully balanced.

Le Brun Servenay farms their fruit sustainably to protect the vines— the oldest of which are 100 years old— and soil. The average age of their vines is 65 years old on the vintage and rosé, and 35 years old for the NV wines. Due to their age, yields are generally low. All fermentation and aging in stainless steel.
