Castarède Bas Armagnac XO 10 Year, Armagnac, France 750ml
100% Folle Blanche from the estate's vineyard, located in Bas-Armagnac. This grape variety produces fine and often floral eau-de-vie with great elegance. This Armagnac is full and harmonious with scents of glazed ripe plums, toast oak followed with arrays of spices, nutmeg mixed with fruit. It has a smooth, long tasting finish.
Founded in 1832, Castarède is the oldest registered Armagnac trading house. The house is known worldwide for its multi-awarded blends and esceptional collection of vintages dating as far back as 1893. Castarède is one of the rare recipients of the coveted quality certification "Living Heritage Company," a symbol of recognition for the Excellence made in France.
Armagnac is France’s oldest wine based eau-de-vie, produced in the southwest of France, with over 700 years of History. Unlike Cognac, Armagnac is not the name of a town, but refers to the sovereign family who for five centuries ruled over the eponymous earldom. A decree in 1909 outlined the production zone for the Armagnac eaux-de-vie and its three regions, followed by another decree in 1936 which defined the Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOP) Armagnac and its production process.
