Ancarani, Albana Secco "Santa Lusa" Emilia-Romagna, Italy 2021

Ancarani, Albana Secco "Santa Lusa" Emilia-Romagna, Italy 2021

Ancarani's Albana "Santa Lusa" has an intense straw yellow color, reflective of the golden grape from which it's made. Aromas of infused liquor and honey, with a supple flavor that results from the warm, traditional fermentation.

Ancarani, aka Azienda Agricola Oriolo dei Fichi, only grows native Romagna vines because Claudio Ancarani believes in and supports biodiversity. Ancarani is a true winemaker: imaginative and a dreamer, but with roots firmly planted on the ground, as its vineyards, where he spends most of his time. He inherited the passion for wine and the vineyard from his grandfather, who cultivated these lands from the 60s.

The link with the land is easily discernible in his wines. Each wine is typical of its varietal, and each bottle can be said to pass through his hands before leaving the winery. The grape harvest is manual, and the winery reduces to a minimum the use of sulfites.
