98% Syrah, 2% Viognier

Stephanie Ogier's "La Rosine" Syrah is a beautiful, rich full-bodied red that also displays finesse and elegance. Dark cherry, cranberry, and stewed fruits lead the palate, which doesn't overwhelm with tannins despite being a big wine. Truly a wonderfully balanced Syrah that would appeal to lovers of Côte Rôtie without the Côte Rôtie price tag.

Grapes are from 20-30 year old vines, in granite soil. Partially destemmed grapes (80 to 100%). Natural fermentation with indigenous yeasts and maceration for 18 to 21 days in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. The wine then spends 12 months in 228 liter French oak barrels, no new wood.
