Cocchi Vermouth di Torino
Cocchi Vermouth di Torino, or simply “Cocchi Torino,” is a sweet vermouth made in the Italian region of Piedmont.
Using Giulio Cocchi’s original recipe from the late 1800s, Cocchi Torino begins with a base of wine sourced from moscato grapes. It is then infused with a variety of herbs and botanicals, including gentian, Artemisia, star anise, rhubarb, rose petals, and coriander. The addition of brown sugar gives Cocchi Torino its signature, tawny hue, and lends a lush sweetness to the vermouth.
Cocchi Torino has a complex, aromatic bouquet that displays notes of sandalwood, nutmeg, and myrrh, and showcases a range of flavors including citrus, rhubarb, tobacco, cocoa, camphor, rosemary, red fruit, and leather.
