Dolcetto d'Alba is a dry red wine noted for its juicy fruit character, low levels of acidity and mild tannins. It has a characteristically purplish ruby-red color, with aromas of lavender and violets, and flavors of black cherry, sweet spices, and a hint of almond. It is an easy-drinking, everyday wine that is a staple of the Langhe community.

Pelissero is an Italian wine estate in the northwestern region of Piedmont, established in 1960. This Dolcetto is from their Munfrina vineyard, first planted in 1980 and bottled in 1984. The wine is smooth yet structured, produced via controlled temperature fermentation and a short maceration period of four to five days, which preserves the grapes’ freshness and fragrance. After a cold decanting, the wine rests in stainless steel for six to seven months, keeping the flavors bright and focused, with one final month in the bottle. This is a very pleasant bottle, with perfectly balanced tannins, acidity, and alcohol.
