The families Huck and Bach joined their vineyard sites of Schiava and Lagrein in an effort to create a classic and regionally specific style worthy of aging but also approachable in its youth. The grapes grow on slopes between 250 and 500 meters above sea level in the slopes of the St. Magdalener area above Bolzano near the church.
Grown side by side and aged in large oak vats, the two grape varietals come together in clear harmony, showing ripe bing cherries, marzipan, and bitter almonds on the nose and palate, with medium weight and great length. Paired with game, roasted vegetables, or hard cheese, the complexity of this wine shines.
Nose: floral of violets and roses, fruity of red cherries and raspberries, typical bitter almond and marzipan aroma
Taste: full and velvety, persistent
Country: Italy
