Tellus Vinea, Merlot & Cabernet Franc, Bordeaux Rouge, France 2022

Tellus Vinea is a wine of depth and length that exceeds by many dimensions its classification as a simple Bordeaux Rouge - and recent vintages clearly demonstrate that this is the best effort ever at this level by the Pueyo family. An icredible value recalling Bordeaux's mid-century hayday of wines true to their terroir and origin.

The grapes for Tellus Vinea are harvested (by hand) from vineyards that border the Lalande de Pomerol appellation. The grapes undergo a three-day cold maceration; the alcoholic fermentation then proceeds for eight to ten days. The wine is racked several times during its elevage in stainless steel and cement tanks before being bottled after an egg-white fining.

The grape composition is predominantly Merlot with a touch of Cabernet Franc in the blend that provides additional structure to the wine.
