The Alberico Bianco is bright yellow in color, with greenish tones. Toasted notes emerge on the nose fruit of aging in barriques, citrus and exotic fruits, buttery sensations and vanilla. On the palate, it is soft, savory, fresh, and persistent.

Just a few miles from the Colosseum, along the legendary Appian Way, sits one of Italy’s best-kept secrets: Tenuta Principe Alberico. Once the playground of Roman nobility, this 120-hectare estate has been in the hands of the Antinori family for two generations. Prince Alberico Boncompagni Ludovisi, a man with a noble title and a rebel heart, turned the tide of post-war Italian farming by embracing what we now call organic viticulture — before the word even existed. Inspired by his friend Tancredi Biondi Santi (yes, the Brunello guy), the prince planted Cabernet, Merlot, and even Sémillon in the 1940s, defying both tradition and chemistry.

Today, the reins are in the capable hands of his granddaughters Albiera, Allegra, and Alessia Antinori, who continue the family legacy with a modern touch. Using cuttings from their grandfather’s original vines, they’ve breathed new life into a historic vineyard that still pulses with Roman soul and volcanic vitality. Tenuta Principe Alberico isn’t just a vineyard — it’s a time machine, a love letter to legacy, and a delicious rebellion in a bottle.
