La Spinetta, Nebbiolo, Langhe, Italy 2020

La Spinetta Nebbiolo is a blend of Nebbiolo from three Barbaresco vineyards in Neive. The nose is broad and penetrating, with hints of fresh fruits, violets, and roses. The mouthfeel has a soft mid pallet that is followed by gentle but persistent tannins.

Easily as good as any Barbaresco, the La Spinetta Langhe Nebbiolo is seductive upon entry with licorice, cherry and rose petal nuances. The tannins kick in towards the long, powerful finish.

Malolactic fermentation done in used French oak barriques, followed by 12 months of aging. The wine is then aged in bottle for 6 months before release.
