Antonin Guyon, Pinot Noir "Les Dames de Vergy" Hautes Côtes De Nuits, Burgundy, France 2019
Started in the 1960s, Domaine Antonin Guyon is one of the most prestigious estates in the Côte d’Or, as well as one of the largest family-owned wineries in the region.
The Hautes Côtes de Nuits vineyards are located on south facing slopes in Meuilley, in the hills above Nuits-Saint-George, an area well-known for the quality of its wines. The soils here are limestone, rock, with some clay. Grapes are hand-harvested; fermentation takes places for 10 days in open wooden vats, at a controlled temperature and with punching down. Wines are aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
Ruby red, with purple tints, full of aromas of fresh fruit. Elegant, delicious and well-crafted with a creamy texture, this wine is ready for drinking now or can be kept for up to five years. Ideal with red meats, roasted meats and most cheeses.
